The three financial questions to ask
- What will you pay? Check whether a fee is annual, first-year or total-course, and which admission route it applies to. Tuition alone may exclude hostel, deposits, university charges or other mandatory expenses.
- What will you receive? Check whether a stipend is monthly and which training year it represents. Actual in-hand pay may differ because of deductions or institute policies.
- What are you committing to? Look for any mandatory service period, where service must be completed, the applicable bond amount or penalty, and separate discontinuation or seat-leaving conditions.
Why comparing fee figures can be misleading
An MD/MS fee may depend on government, private, deemed, management, NRI or other applicable seat routes. A figure reported for one route, branch or academic year may not apply to another. Likewise, a DNB programme can have different fee and accommodation arrangements from a nearby MD/MS programme.
For each shortlisted college-course option, compare like with like: same programme, same admission route and same academic year. Recheck the issuing institute or counselling authority's latest published documents before paying or accepting a seat.
How to read a service bond
A service bond can specify a compulsory period of work after training, a financial consequence if its conditions are not met, or both. Bond rules may vary by state, institution, specialty, quota, candidate type and year. A service bond is also distinct from a seat-leaving or discontinuation penalty.
If a duration or penalty is missing in a database, do not interpret the blank as “no bond” or ₹0. It may mean that the exact rule is not verified or available for that programme and route.
A simple comparison workflow in Neetnomics
- Use your AIR, category and preferred specialty to identify college-course options in My View or the College & Cutoff Database.
- Check historical closing ranks across available rounds, using the correct quota and category.
- Review displayed fees, stipend and service-bond information, paying attention to units and any uncertainty or missing values.
- Open College Info and available MCC institute profiles for additional context, then independently confirm the latest official financial rules.
- Save only the options whose academic fit, total cost and service commitment you could accept.
Frequently asked questions
Are NEET PG fees the same across all seats in a college?
Not necessarily. Different courses, quotas and admission routes may carry different fees. Always verify the specific seat type and year.
Does a higher stipend mean a better financial option?
Not on its own. Consider fees, additional charges, stipend by year, accommodation and any service commitment together.
Does “Unknown” mean no bond or no fee?
No. Unknown or missing information is not a confirmed zero. Check official prospectuses, institute notifications and applicable counselling rules.
